Day 17- Love is a verb

img_3171Our doctor told us when I was pregnant for Emalynn that the best reason to go to the hospital is to have a baby.  I have determined and verified that he is 100% correct.  I couldn’t agree more.  I woke up at midnight in the most terrible abdominal pain.  I am no stranger to that we all know, but the difference between this pain and having contractions is that at least a little bit of rest between those.  And the redhead in me is still laughing at the pain killers.  I would have much rather been having a baby, ya’ll.

We ended up in the ER thinking maybe it was my appendix.  By 4 am it was determined after some tests that I had an ovarian cyst rupture.  I’ve had that happen before but man alive this pain is intense!  I am so thankful for incredible doctors and nurses who can take horrible situations at all hours of the day and night and make patients feel at ease.  I am also thankful for my mother-in-law who didn’t hesitate to get out of bed and drive right down the road and stay with our children and get them off to school this morning as I went to bed at 6.  And I am so grateful for a husband who stood by me all night and then headed off to work this morning with minimal sleep.  Then there are the countless texts, messages and prayers from friends and family that are carrying me through.  They say love is a verb…with that I also couldn’t agree more.

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.  1 Peter 4:8
