My Novembers past mark some truly incredible, miraculous things just as they have unleashed some of the worst, most devastating life circumstances. Somehow this time of year still remains my favorite. It’s tempting to skip over Thanksgiving and lump it in with ‘The Holidays’. I mean when it gets dark at 4:30 in the afternoon who can judge one’s use of twinkle lights!? They’ve been in my fall foliage for weeks by the way. In the land of plenty it’s in the dark we so often fail to see the big ol’ mess of pooled blessings as they spill out on every side because we can’t make out the forest for the trees. This November will you join me and take a moment each day to shine God’s love and light upon our lives and reflect how our cups runneth over? Whether you’re putting up your Christmas tree or holding out until Black Friday- we can always use the Light in the darkness to count our blessings. May the Lord illuminate what He wants us to see this bountiful gratitude season.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world.Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”John 8:12
