Day 16- Compromise

My sweet, precious children have been driving me BA-NANAS about decorating for Christmas. I typically have a strict policy that I do not do that until the day after Thanksgiving because it’s my favorite holiday. But their arguments persist! Mom! This year has been horrible!!

I told them today that we could start getting out some winter things…like the reindeer and some twinkle lights for the fall foliage. After all…daylight savings time ending had brought a lot of darkness to our evenings. I have to admit the compromise has been good! The pretty glow is getting me in the mood to stay in and bake!

As much as they are pushing to put the trees up I’m standing my ground! But I might continue to pull out more lights! We live in a very dark world and they remind me of why we celebrate Christmas to begin with – the birth of the Light of the World. So while I’m focusing on Thanksgiving, hopefully this will hold the kiddos off for a week and a half!

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
