Day 6 – Cast My Cares

Sometimes the surest way to stand is by getting down on our knees.  We are encouraged in Hebrews 4:16 to approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.  And in Philippians 4 we are promised the peace that transcends all understanding to guard our hearts and minds if we simply with thanksgiving present our requests to God.  And I’m telling you, praise and thanks be to Him, it WORKS!  I implore you my friends, whatever you are facing, whatever you are holding onto, whatever makes you feel anxious…cast your cares upon our great and powerful God because He cares for you.

Lord Jesus, I praise and worship You because You are worthy.  You are holy.  You alone are deserving.  Lord God, Your Word promises that if Your people, who are called by Your Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek Your face and turn from their wicked ways, then You will hear them from heaving and You will forgive their sin and heal their land.  On this election day, I pray that each of us would prayerfully seek the peace and prosperity of this land that You have placed us in.  Let us acknowledge that You are on Your throne and in Your sovereignty You place our leaders before us.  Let us be a people who continually lift our leaders up to You knowing that You are in control.  May we put our hope and trust in You alone so that we never, ever have to fear.  In the precious Name of Jesus, Amen.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.  2 Chronicles 7:14

“Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”  Jeremiah 29:7

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.  1 Peter 5:7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:6-7

Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.  Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.  James 5:13-16
