I woke up in the early morning hours and found myself content to be awake and think. Once it was a decent time to make noise and therein wake up the Bear…thus she could eat of course, I sat in my office with the fireplace on and the candle lit wrapped in a cozy blanket so happy to come before the Lord in prayer.

I have started lighting a candle during my prayer time so that I can have a visual, a scent and a sound during that time. Scripture says that our prayers are as incense to the Lord. A sweet smell to Him…an offering of worship. And in Revelation our prayers are mentioned. That means our prayers are eternal. We are not wasting time or throwing our cares to the wind when we lift them up before God’s throne of Grace.
Today I am thankful that I can take my cares to the Lord and that He answers.
May my prayer be set before you like incense;
may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice. Psalm 141:2
And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. Revelation 4:7-8
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
