Day 2 – Community

It’s and eventful weekend for our little town of Sparta. Last night the Varsity Boys Football team won their first round of playoffs with a score of 35-0. Today we head to Ford Field in Detroit for our Em’s Marching Band State Finals. So much excitement in 24 hours for the blue & white!

A few weeks ago my dad mentioned that when we moved when I was 9 and my sister was 6, he and my mom almost bought a house in the neighboring town of Coopersville. How different our lives would be! My sister and I both married Sparta guys from our graduating high school classes. I have to say how thankful I am to be a Spartan rather than a Bronco! There is something so special and tight knit about this place we call home.

I truly believe God is blessing our community faithfully with growth and strong leaders in the next generation…exemplified by our varsity football team praying on the field for each hurt player (from the opposing teams) and after every game, Young Life growing exponentially and the community pouring into our kids by funding capital improvements and building state of the art facilities. It’s not just about winning. While it’s fun, to see God’s heart in our kids is what really counts. Thank you Lord for your great love and amazing grace in our home sweet home! You are so, so good to us!

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
