Did you know there are over 200 viral strands of the common cold? It is the most frequent infectious disease for human beings with no cure and no vaccination…symptoms can only be treated. Having been dealing with one for over a week I am so thankful that today I finally feel like I’ve turned the corner. I’m not leaning on a decongestant to breathe and the coughing is almost completely gone. I slept all night last night and I am so grateful!
This fallen world gives us many challenges, illness being one of the many. Having a chronic illness and autoimmune issues the common cold takes a little bit more of a toll on my body. I am so grateful that while Jesus told us we would have trouble in this world, such peace comes from the fact that He also tells us that He has overcome it. Sin and death, including the challenges, trials and difficulties of this fallen world have been overcome it once and for all. We will have battles to fight, but the war has already been won. In the midst of suffering it can be so easy to forget that. So whatever you are dealing with, remember, friend, to to have courage and take heart. Jesus knows! He has walked in our shoes and He is with us!
