Day #7- Gimme a Break…

My most favorite Halloween treat…before going gluten free…used to be Kit Kat Bars.  Five years ago when I was pregnant for Jackson…I hoarded and ate every single one that came into this house saying cheerfully…oh, we share at our house, don’t we!  Yes I admit, I ate my children’s candy.  One might argue or justify that I was simply spreading the wealth from the oldest 2 by giving it to the youngest…but let’s be honest…I was eating those delightfully crispy little candy bars for me.  I continued on to have the best Thanksgiving and Christmas ever…carlorically speaking…because I ate anything and everything I wanted with absolutely zero guilt.  This caught up with me of course in the end, but at the time, it was fabulous!  This year my breaks come in a little bit different form.

By mid-afternoon today I was praying gimmie a break after yet another medical test…which means fasting…which also means no pain meds!  I am so grateful God answered and a slight break came late this afternoon.  It wears on you after a while.  We still have no idea what is going on and trust that God is carrying us through this.  He is providing in so many ways.  We are thankful for the doctors, nurses and medical staff that have done so much to help us thus far and continue not to give up in finding a diagnosis.  We are grateful to live in a city that has many medical facilities, resources and specialists.  We are so blessed that God is guiding and directing our path and gives mama strength and little breaks now and then bringing comfort.  Our faith is not in people, medicine or treatments…it is in our great God.  We are so thankful in His perfect provision giving us everything we need, just when we need it.

It’s Friday night, Friends!  Put your feet up and take a break!  Have a Kit Kat for me, will ya? 🙂

I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live

Psalm 116:1-2
