Day #1- Plans

It’s that time of year again…November!  Which means…Gratitude Month!  Yay!  Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday (fall, food, fun and family…I mean, really…what’s not to love!?)  and I am one who likes to spread it all month through praising God from Whom all blessings flow for 30 full days!

While some amazing things have happened in our lives in the month of November, devastating things have as well…as they have for many. This year my gratitude may look a bit different considering the challenges and trials we are currently facing.  But strangely right now we find ourselves more thankful for so many things…both big and seemingly small.  I really believe that God is going to do some amazing things and I cannot wait to see His glorious unfolding.  This week especially Nathan and I have seen the fingerprints of God in miraculous ways leading us through this difficult time.  He is so faithful…even when I am faithless.  I have to admit…at times I have allowed my fear to be bigger than my faith.  When tempted in weak moments I have allowed myself to believe the lies of the enemy that this is hopeless.  But God…He didn’t leave me there.  He powerfully in His amazing grace showed me that He has plans!  There IS purpose in all of this and it will be to His glory and honor and praise when it is revealed.

Today I am so thankful that all of my plans for my life didn’t work out.  I am thankful that even when I can’t see what God is doing, I can trust that His plans are good, because He is…immeasurably more than I could ever ask or imagine.  As long and hard and steep as this journey may seem…it’s just the beginning friends! I’ve been told…God is always speaking, you just have to be listening.  What is God going to tell you this Gratitude Month?  Watch and wait…look above and all around…and find yourself filled with His goodness and lost in the wonders of His love!  What are you grateful for?  Do tell! 🙂

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.  Jeremiah 29:11-13
