I don’t know about you but I was completely unprepared for the amount of snow we received today…though I don’t think the vast majority of West Michigan was either based on the amount of slide-offs and car crashes I passed on my way home today…yikes! Lots of prayers went out for those folks! I sent my children to school this morning without boots and snow pants (oops…does it count that they were hanging in the closet-? Yeah…I didn’t think so). I left the house without an ice scraper in my vehicle…and we have not replaced the broken kiddie snow shovels (much to Jackson’s dismay…oh, man!). Which reminds me…I think that sand shovel and dump truck are still in the sand box…(oops, again!). I realize sometimes we do get snow before Thanksgiving…but I wasn’t exactly ready for this much of it. We did however have lots of fun at a neighbor’s house after school on their great big sledding hill. Max showed off his incredible snowboarding skills (who knew!?) and Jackson went face first on the sled all the way down the hill screaming over and over “THIS IS AWESOME!” I am grateful that even though my pumpkins are frozen to the front porch…and I clearly did not pay attention to the forecast…we all made it home safely and even managed to have some unexpected fun in the snow today.
