Day #7- Iron Man Arms

One Sunday morning before church a few weeks ago our kids were eating breakfast at the snack bar and Nathan was facing them leaning against the sink with his arms folded…waiting for the coffee to brew most likely.  Jackson piped up with a tough guys voice and yelled “Dad!  You have Iron Man arms!”  We all got a good laugh out of that but I’ll tell you what…I am very thankful for Nathan’s strong “iron man arms”!  Those big papa bear hugs are just the comfort I need each and every day.

I once heard a story about a little girl who was afraid and asked her mommy to stay with her while she fell asleep.  Her mom told her…just like we always tell our children…that she didn’t have to be afraid because Jesus was always with her.  The little girl responded… “But mommy tonight I need Jesus to have skin on.”  I praise God and thank Him for all of those who are continuously Jesus with “skin on” to me…His hands and feet… “Iron Man” included.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in  perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body  you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.  Colossians 3:12-16
