5 Fabulous Fashion Finds on Friday!

Or to say it simply…F(5)!  Ive decided after popular demand to put my professional personal shopping experience to work for my fashionably fabulous friends!  Hey…even though I’m on a shopping fast for 2011 the least I can do is help all of you look spectacular this spring season!  I’ve had many requests to help my girlfriends enhance their wardrobes so today kicks off a weekly update of the most stylish, affordable AND smart fashion finds because what’s the use in buying something that won’t stand the test of time….and this real housewife of the Midwest NEVER pays retail for anything!  I’ll post 1 fabulous find by category each week  including apparel, outerwear, accessories, skin care & cosmetics, and last but certainly not least…SHOES!  Again…if I’m not buying them YOU may as well be…correct me if I’m wrong!

SO…let’s get to it!

My most favorite thing to shop for especially in the spring, besides shoes of course, are DRESSES!  This Brushstroke Chiffon Belted ruffle dress I am obsessed with so I hope I will see it on someone very soon!  Lauren Conrad is one of my favorite up and coming designers.  While I will be wearing her threads from last season this one is my current favorite available at Kohl’s.  And do me proud ladies…use those 15-30% off coupons on top of sale prices!

I love me a spring jacket and in Michigan we can count on a frosty, frigid morning now and again…unfortunately even in May.  So the perfect solution for that is a fantastic trench!  Trust me on two things…make it water repellent for those April showers and pick a pop of color and you’ll be pulling it out year-after-year feeling like you just pulled it from the rack!  I’ve been rocking the same raspberry trench for 6 years strong!  My suggestion this season is this great option from one of my favorite stores…Target but of course!

My dear and very creative friend Chrissy recently opened her new Etsy Shop and I just had to share my favorite accessory with you from her incredible collection.  Now I will warn you…when you go there…you will love everything!  While the adorable Jennifer checkbook cover is affectionately named after yours truly (Chrissy appropriately decided to name something after me that is associated with spending money…shocking, I know!) my most favorite item from her line is the Maggie Rosette Bib Necklace.   At just $25 it is an absolute steal and can be an outfit maker with just jeans and a t-shirt or adorn a flowy dress to perfection!   Visit Simply Created and have fun!

When it comes to skin care and cosmetics I have a passion for pink.  As a former and soon-to-be Mary Kay consultant in my experience I always fall back on their classics for my everyday staples.  While I certainly don’t rule out other quality lines in my cosmetic drawer this season I am loving Mary Kay’s Limited Edition Weekender Collection…especially the eye pencils!  Two-in-one uses are always a good thing and talk about color…loving it!  If you don’t have a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant I would be happy to get you in touch with one in your area who, of course, offers great sale promotions!

Now onto my most beloved category!  This season nude heels are everywhere.  I will be pulling out of the archives but let me recommend these tan gladiator sandals from Payless.  I am not one who buys into any hue being “the new black”….which these handsome heels are also available in…but this color pairs well with just about anything so it is the next best option to basic black and much more seasonal.  If you’re like me you’ll wait until BOGO, but if you can’t be sure to ask in-store about the 20% off code via text on your mobile phone!   My most favorite Payless is at Woodland Mall by the way!

Happy Spring my friends!  Be sure to send any fashion or shopping questions my way and I’d be happy to help anyone with wardrobing…it’s my most favorite thing to do!  And remember…while being beautiful on the outside is fabulously fun, beauty shining through from the inside is what really matters!

“The LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”  I Samuel 16:7 (ESV)
