I can’t help but wonder what 2011 will bring. God has surprised us so many times in the past with incredibly gracious and unexpected gifts, gifts beyond our wildest dreams! I am so excited for what’s to come this year.

I picked up my daily devotional book yesterday…just in time!  It’s titled “Believing God Day by Day” by Beth Moore.  I know it’s no accident that the store I had a gift card for didn’t have the book I really wanted.  At first I was bummed, but when I got home I realized how much this book coincides with our current study at church “A Beautiful Life” in the book of John.  In the opening sermon in September Pastor Jim explained that the key to a beautiful life is belief in Jesus.  Belief is not something me merely “have”…it is something we “do”…all day, everyday. 

It’s kind of like love.  Love is something we do, it isn’t something we just “have”.  When you love someone, if you really love them, you “do”.  Love is a verb.  Such is belief. If you think about it, every decision we make is based on belief. Will the choices I make be made out belief in myself, this world, man’s empty praise…or belief in Christ?

I am ready to be challenged and believe everyday this year…to not just believe in Jesus…but believe him everyday.  Here’s to a beautiful life in Christ…Happy 2011!
