Day 8 – Out of the Mouths of Babes

Family dinners are really important to me. I love sitting around the table sharing a meal and hearing about everyone’s day. One of the things we do is take turns praying which has also become very special to me.

Hearing our children pray is such a blessed gift. From the time they were tiny they would blow us away with what they would pray and how they would talk to God as their Heavenly Father and friend. To this day when I hear them thank the Lord that they get to go to school or to heal someone that we have been fervently praying for I am so grateful for their precious, tender hearts. Tonight our sweet Emalynn prayed a heartfelt prayer for the persecuted church around the world. I was so touched by her empathy for what our spiritual brothers and sisters face in places we can’t even imagine.

I am so grateful for our children’s faith that often challenges us. Perhaps we are the ones who make life complicated? We have much to learn from their child-like, not childish faith.

Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Psalm 127:3
