I absolutely love that our kids like Schoolhouse Rock! They actually know the songs better than I do and it originally aired before I was even born much like quite a bit of the music we listen to. It’s fun to see them learn about our nation’s history and they are quite interested in what is going on currently…as messed up as it is.
No matter who you voted for, this nation is a hot mess, friends. We have become the divided states of America. Where is the love? All I seem to see is hate on both sides. It’s heartbreaking. When will we stand up and say ‘ENOUGH, ALREADY!?’
I found this book last fall and wanted to start the 40-day journey of praying for our nation. But, God told me to ‘Wait’. I didn’t get it. Why!? Our nation is bleeding NOW!? I wanted to pray specifically NOW! But the answer remained even after the very controversial 2020 election to wait. Very early this year God laid it upon my heart to do this prayer journey over the season of Lent which begins today. So, I did.
Friends, maybe you feel like I do…our nation’s problems are bigger than you and I. How can our little prayers make a difference with such HUGE issues of racism, division, hate, greed, agendas and power struggles? Does it make you physically ill when you see our nation’s monuments and our capital attacked and our people killing each other!? God, where are you? Perhaps He has given us over to ourselves? If that doesn’t scare you, I don’t know what will! But…there is hope!
God is faithful and He says …if His people pray….He will heal our land. Friends, there is no better time. I beg you, please pray. We need healing. We need our Jehovah Rapha to heal our incredible land and our people both physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. He is the answer, He is our hope. We the people have the power. Let’s put politics aside. Will you join me?
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
