Don’t be a jerk…it’s Christmas

Last night was Em’s band and choir concert and her 8th Grade choir sang the song “Don’t be a jerk, It’s Christmas” by Spongebob.  It was hilarious.  Tonight while taking Max to basketball I was reminded of it when I was tempted to complain about someone going 35 in a 55 all the way to town…and then not using their turn signal.  While I cannot control other people’s actions…I can most certainly control my re-actions.  So thank you, choir!  And of course it is no accident that while preparing Him room, this verse was in my prayer journal this morning….

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”  Matthew 22:35-40
