But First…Jesus

As a chronic calendar over-filler I suffer from jamming way too much into one day. I never seem to give myself extra time to factor in things like filling my car up with gas or, you know, my body with food. It seems tis the season to stuff our days to the max and for me today was no different!

The alarm rang at 7 am to get up and get ready for Em’s Solo & Ensemble performance with her friend…they got a 1...whew-hew!  So proud of them!  Then we were off to the post office, the shop, picked up wreaths, back to the shop, to the bank, home, a friend’s house and then to my parents’ house to meet the girls for the West Catholic High School Craft Show which is by far our favorite.  By the time we sat down to lunch and 1 p.m. it felt like 5!  Phew!  But we did get a lot accomplished!

I am so glad that first thing this morning before all the running here, there and everywhere, I was able to take some time with the Lord.  With all the hustle and bustle I really want to be intentional and prepare Him room in my heart, in my day and in my life so that He will show me new and significant things only He can this Advent season.  This month I am hoping to share how the Lord is leading our family to prepare Him room and help encourage others to do the same.  No matter how full the calendar gets I am looking forward to looking at the to-do’s, to-get’s and go-go’s and say But first…Jesus!

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be ]added to you.  Matthew 6:33 NASB
