It is no secret that I am a huge geek. I love school. I love to teach Junior Achievement in my children’s classes every year and I love field trips! Today I got to go to the Grand Rapids Public Museum with Maxwell’s 5th grade class. We learned about Native American culture, saw an amazing toy exhibit spanning decades and has so much fun in my favorite part “Old Grand Rapids”.
It was all beautifully decorated for Christmas which I had never seen before.
No matter how many times I go on field trips…even to the same place…I always learn something new! Last year I went on a field trip to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum with Emalynn and I am ashamed to say that I was 37 years old and had never been through it…and I grew up here! I was fascinated. Like I said…huge geek right here.
What I love most though is that my dream was always to be a mom and I truly am living that dream. Being able to schedule my life around our children is such a blessed gift. It certainly gets chaotic with our business and ministry and…well, you know…so while I am almost always exhausted. But it is wonderfully exhausted. I am so grateful for this time with these kiddos. It goes way too fast.
Today on our way home I told Max that today was my favorite trip to the museum I’ve ever had and it was my “thankful” thing for today. He said “It’s mine too…I’m so glad you came!” Oh my heart…what a sweet boy. Immeasurably more, friends…immeasurably more!
