I awoke early this morning in anticipation of singing at church to discover my cold had settled in my voice box overnight leaving me with only a whisper. No singing for me today. I was bummed but also thankful that in the soft glow of the Christmas lights while it was still dark, I could lift up in prayer the service, the rest of the praise team and our pastor and the message God had given him to share today.
This journey has brought me to a place where my hope and goal is that my worship will be more than just a song…but an attitude of my heart…a way of life even. So this morning my song wasn’t from my lips, but from my heart and for that privilege I am so grateful.
I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me;
hear me when I call to you.
May my prayer be set before you like incense;
may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice. Psalm 141:1-2
