Day 21- All We Need

Do you ever have a morning when you have to seemingly ‘fly by the seat of your pants’…?  I’m naturally not very good at that.  It tends to stress me out…like…a lot.  Remember me…Martha?

This morning was our final building inspection at church for the Grace Beyond project.  When we arrived for Bible Study we had planned ahead to adjust our schedule to accommodate the inspection, but we were not expecting to have quite so many “technical difficulties”.  After a power outage all of the audio/visual equipment had to be re-booted.  Then…it had to be re-booted again.  Then we had no audio or video.  Then we had video and no audio.    Then we had audio and no video.  Finally everything was up and running, but needless to say we had to be a little bit flexible with our order of service.

Our lesson for this week focused on how when Jesus sent out the 12 disciples in Mark Chapter 6, He gave them power and instructed them to depend on God for everything.  We found ourselves in that very place in this morning.  God went before us a week ago providing a wonderful pianist for our worship time because He knew the audio wasn’t going to work correctly.  He provided the exact amount of time for all of the women who wanted to share what they were thankful for with the group.  He gave us all the resources we needed…including awesome tech support from our staff experts…at the exact time we needed them.

Time and time again the Lord shows me that having a Mary-like attitude is much better than how I naturally tend to react…all Martha-like.  When I started to stress this morning the Lord kept reminding me to simply depend on Him.  Everything worked out perfectly because it went exactly how God wanted it to.  Just like last week, I am so thankful that He always provides all we need!  Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father!

O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever.  Psalm 107:1 (KJV)
