Day 4- Reverence

If you were to ask me the moment I fell in love with my husband I know exactly what I would say.  We had not been dating very long…a few months at best.  It was the summer before our senior year of high school and we were in Grand Haven, which was, and still is, one of our favorite date spots.  We loved to walk the board walk along the channel, out onto the pier, and along the sandy shore of Lake Michigan.

On this particular evening we were looking at one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.  Not a cloud was present and there were vibrant colors of  glowing orange, pink and purple as the sun was disappearing in the horizon.  I commented on how gorgeous it was and Nate simply and sweetly said “God made that.”  I turned and looked at him and that minute I fell in love.

It meant so much to me that Nathan had reverence for our Almighty Creator and Sustainer.  He knows that God is still in control, still creating and His handiwork is far greater than anything man could create. 1909959_117955014098_451701_n
This photo of our him in Grand Haven with our son Maxwell, who turns 9 (!?) today, reminds me of that.  When we he looks at our children, Nathan marvels at who God created them to be.  Not for a minute would he take credit for how God
knit them together in my womb and gave them the unique personalities He has.  I am so thankful that my husband proclaims that only God can do that.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.  Psalm 19:1
