We woke up this morning to a world of white. It was absolutely gorgeous…and cold. For me it takes time to adjust to the frigid temps…but our children wasted no time and before I knew it we had not 1, not 2 but 3 snowmen in our front yard…and the pumpkins were all removed to the woods! I was thoroughly impressed!
As I sat inside this morning watching all the children play I was overcome with thankfulness and felt led to spend time in prayer and worshipful prayer. I am thankful that God has helped me feel so much better. I am thankful that God has carried us through such a difficult time. I am thankful as I look out over a fresh blanket of white that God has washed all of my fears away. God then brought me to Psalm 34.
There are so many powerful verses in that Psalm for me. The one that stood out to me today was verse 7….
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.
I wasn’t really sure why God brought this to my attention. Then this evening Emalynn and I were on the way home from the store on a busy rural road and we saw deer in a field. Two darted out in front of us as I hit the brakes and BAM! Deer number three slammed into the front passenger fender with Em in the front seat as deer number 4 thankfully crossed the road behind our van. We praise and thank God that we are safe and the damage to our car is minimal. Today I am thankful that God goes before us in ways we cannot even imagine and encamps around us and delivers us.
