Tonight there is a fundraiser called Food for Thought at one of the local landmark Sparta restaurants Downtown Trini’s and Margarita Joe’s. Once a year the restaurant graciously opens on a Monday evening when they are usually closed to benefit the Sparta Education Foundation. The teachers, staff and administrators of Sparta Are Schools help by serving. It is always so fun and a great way to raise funds for our schools. It is just one tiny way that the amazing teachers give back to our kiddos.
As an alumni of Sparta I can testify to the fact that the teachers we had are extraordinary. They didn’t just teach us…they invested in us and helped us grow and nurtured us to become who God made us to be. In fact, if it wasn’t for Mr. Bartlett I may not be married to Nathan! He let me switch classes my junior year and that’s the class where we got together. I still owe him brownies for that favor…sheesh…I NEED to pay that debt!
We are so thankful for the staff and teachers of our schools. They go above and beyond just doing their jobs. They truly love our kids and involve us as parents in so many ways. They give back to our community by serving, they call when they feel like something might not be ‘just quite right’ with one of our kids throughout the day, and they send notes or emails just to let us know that they are doing well or being good role models, or just to say how sweet they are.
As a mom it is such a blessing to know that our children aren’t just taught at school, they are truly loved and cared for. Today I am so thankful that God has blessed us and our children with incredible staff, administrators and teachers.
