When viewed collectively, this week’s Fab Five might be seen as a bit much. However when on they are individually styled with the correct pieces the sheen and shine are the perfect polish to any outfit. These classic stylings will be the stars of your more glamorous staples for years to come!
Everyone needs a great pair of black patent leather pumps! I suggest a closed toe non-slingback for the most use. Patent leather is typically a fall/winter style shoe and to get the most use keep those piggies covered! These are a great find on super sale and once again, platforms bring comfort and height! Don’t forget the Kohl’s coupons and you’ll be getting a fabulous deal on these beauties!
One of my favorite things to take from plain to polished is satin. This gorgeous tie-neck blouse from The Limited is such a great color for fall and so classic. Pair it with wide leg charcoal trousers and a skinny leopard belt with heels and you’re in business…literally…a fantastic wear-to-work look! It would also look beautiful under a faux fur vest with a pair of flare jeans. You’ll be returning to this season after season!
I love myself a sequin. And they are not just for New Year’s Eve either! Pair this gorgeous skirt with a cable sweater, tights, platform heels and you’ve got a great party outfit. Take it up a notch with a fur vest or pair it with booties and a leather jacket for an edgier look. Dress up or down and wear it in and out…this is a great piece to take it to the next level!
This next find is a little bit more subtle but has a luxurious luster nonetheless. I found it looking through my mom’s latest Personal Accents catalog through Amway. The color pairings of faux pearls is such a tribute to the late autumn foliage outside my window right now…LOVE it! I also love the detailed layers…it’s just enough…without being too much! Contact (my lovely mom) Julie Heydenburg for ordering information.
When it comes to eye color, I must have some shimmer at all times…day or night. The best way for me to start is with a creamy base like Intense ShadowBlast from Cover Girl. Not only does it last on its own but it helps mineral or powder eye color stay on longer as well…and who has time to touch up makeup…I mean really. The best neutrals to have on hand are the Platinum Pop, Beige Blaze and Brown Bling available at a drugstore…or if you’re a one-stop shopper like me a Meijer near you.
Since we are in the thick of boot season and I had some questions about flat slouchy boots you get an extra find this week because I just love you all so much! Leave it to me, the heel-a-holic to forget to list a flat version. These slouchy flats are available in black, brown and cognac…which is a great option. It goes with everything! I wouldn’t advise suede personally. Not that I have anything against it…it’s a great look but really only for fall. Once winter hits…thus snow and salt…they can get ruined in a hurry. Leather is a much better option to transition into the next season and even wearable in the early Spring in rainy weather.
It seems to be getting darker by the day, doesn’t it? It’s probably my least favorite part of fall. Why not add a little shine? It also seems to be getting all around darker in this world. So much news is bad news these days. But there is a hope. A Light that shines in and through all who believe in that hope. Don’t let your light dim…don’t worry about being a bit much…don’t just blend in…stand out! Shine on my friends! Next week…my favorite camouflage-inspired finds for all of you ladies who find yourselves alone while your mighty hunters are in the woods. Tis the season..I say embrace it with cute looks, shopping trips and girls nights!
