Whether you’re headed south or staying put this week’s Fabulous Fashion finds us excited for Spring baby! With warmer temps on the way and the sun shining this morning I am all about it! We are notorious for the staycation however that doesn’t mean I can’t look great doing it…and there’s lots to do in our beloved West Michigan…and in my basement right now! So…for all of you Spring Breakers…let’s get started!
I am LO-VING cropped pants right now. They are such a great alternative to capris and shorts which my 5’1″ frame does not flatter. Crops however look great with flats, sandals, wedges and even heeled booties since it can still be so blasted cold in early spring. I adore these cropped cargos from The Limited. The color is so versatile and they can be dressed up or down. I have pulled an archived J.Crew version I recently sported paired with my next find!
Every woman should have a denim jacket! The color doesn’t matter as much as a classic fit. Denim blazers are fine but styles change so often…one button or two…short or long…you’re much better with denim to go with classic styling. Gap and J. Crew are both known for their good quality denim and famous for the denim jacket…a staple recommended by stylists. A classic wash is a great idea as shown here by Gap. I have also like a light wash jacket that I pull out from seasons past like this one from J. Crew…and it is a great color for Spring and Summer AND it’s on SALE! Perfection!
Last week I told you about the adorable flower rings that I so love and guess what!? Chrissy is now carrying them in her Etsy shop and they come in TONS of colors! Talk about of a rainbow of hues! If I had to I would choose the Citra because it will be GREAT for Spring and Summer…or maybe the Sky…or the Lila…? Okay…you pick…at $11 who can resist?
As we move into our skin care and cosmetics I just want to urge all of you as you are getting ready or already on your way to warmer climates please, I beg you please WEAR YOUR SPF and stay OUT of the cancer (aka tanning) booths as my friend Jill calls them (a cancer survivor!). If you must be tan it’s called spray-on and then use your sunscreen! Trust me! Two things my Aunt Pam taught me about being beautiful (1) Sunburns are NOT pretty (and neither are age spots) and (2) Wash your makeup off every single night! Boy was she right because if I skip either let’s just say it isn’t pretty! Okay…I’ll get off my soapbox now about your skin. Now…if I asked my Aunt Pam I bet you she would agree with Carrie Bradshaw that Botox is painful and unnecessary and BOY is it expensive. However this last October I hit the big 3-0 and let me tell you that the expression lines in my forehead have arrived! But you won’t be catching me with needles in my face! I’ve got the next best thing! Pro-Repair Line Freeze from Aloette Cosmetics! It rocks…I promise! Lines disappear like magic! This stuff is A-MA-ZING! Another great thing about Aloette is they are SO awesome to their hostesses. If you host a beauty show the free products are out of this world…SO worth baking some brownies and having some girl time I promise! If you’re interested, contact Independent Beauty Consultant Melissa Larson (my sister-in-law)!
Alright…now…personally I wear heels pretty much everyday but if I had to pick a cute, flat shoe for my friends who say “How in the world do you wear those heels?” it would be these studded gladiator sandals! Okay…so they’re not completely flat but who can’t benefit from an extra inch…AND it’s a wedge! Totally doable for anyone! They come in grey and black and are available at Payless. Now…my advice is to call the store first before going in to see if they have them in stock if you don’t want to purchase online. From my experience the staff is always great at locating shoes in-stores (around West Michigan anyway) and will hold them for you to go in and try them on!
Whether you’re traveling or chillaxing around home I hope you have a wonderful start to Spring! Happy shopping and remember that while it is faulously fun to look beautiful on the outside, true beauty that shines through from the inside is what really matters.
